About Us
tempertemper is a small independent company owned by Jackie and Julius Windels.
In 2002, we opened a sweet and chocolate shop in Tunbridge Wells and spent our days making fudge and chocolates in all sorts of shape and forms to sell to local customers. So many people were interested in how the sweets and chocolate were made, that we started running small classes in the evenings every now and then. This grew quickly with lots of requests for children’s parties as well as adults, until eventually, we enjoyed doing parties so much that we decided to sell the shop altogether to concentrate on the parties alone.
We soon outgrew the factory where the parties were held, and searched the town for new premises, until finally coming across the perfect place in Southborough. In May 2008, tempertemper opened for business at 15b Church Road, which is now where all the parties are held.
A lot of the parties we host are for children but are becoming increasingly popular with adult groups looking to celebrate special occasions such as weddings and anniversaries. Chocolate making is perfect for team building as there’s nothing like ‘creative mess’ to break down the barriers as well as an alternative venue for mother’s group or baby sitting circle get togethers.
To make more of your day or evening in Southborough, there is plenty to choose from. The Hand and Sceptre, a large pub serving good local food is just over the road. The Montrose, a brand new fine dining restaurant has just opened in front of us and we are opposite a children’s play park with tennis courts and crazy golf. Southborough Common is on our doorstep, a wonderful place for a picnic, a walk through the woods or to watch the cricket in the summer.
